How To Tell If Your Neighborhood Home Prices Will Be Going Up

While no one can accurately predict the future, there is one "tell," as they say in poker, that signals your neighborhood is becoming more desirable:

A dumpster in front of a newly purchased home in Henderson

A dumpster First, those babies cost $350 for the privilege of parking in front of your house and blocking your driveway.

But the real giveaway is what's in the dumpster.  Kitchen cabinets. Flooring. Fixtures. That means the homeowner is spending money replacing those kitchen cabinets, flooring and fixtures. Anyone willing to take out their checkbook is banking on the fact they will be getting their money back (and hopefully more!) when they sell. They are optimistic about the future of that house and are willing to bet on the house odds. (Groan but this is Vegas!)

And if your subdivision sprouts a forest of dumpsters, yeah you!

Do you know of any other tells?
